Jakob Calvert-Bos is a Melbourne-based Animator and Illustrator. His work often uses a vibrant and whimsical aesthetic to convey complex themes related to mental health. His projects generally explore how 2D animation can effectively communicate the therapeutic benefits of pet companionship in mental health management.
In 2025, Jakob will complete his Master’s of Animation, Games, and Interactivity at RMIT University. He has self-published an array of animated short films. His most recent film, “Reluctant Deity,” aims to highlight the importance of acceptance and compassion through humour and self-reflection.
